Pass Concept:

The Flanker Split End Shallow Cross Pass Concept is designed to attack man coverage. The slot receiver is the quarterback’s initial read.

Pass Routes:

Split End: Shallow Cross
Slot: Post ( initial read)
Flanker: Shallow Cross
Runningback: Left Flat (option to go up field vertically)
Fullback: Right Flat (option to go up field vertically)

Coaching Points:

The Flanker Split End Shallow Cross Pass Concept has the quarterback taking a seven drop step. He then looks to his initial read, which is the tight end. If the tight end is not open, he then looks to throw one of the two receivers running the mesh. The runningback and fullback are his last options to dump the ball off.
