The Gun Trips TE – Pats Flood is an excellent Madden 12 passing play to attack zone coverage because of the many options to pass the ball to. With the flood concept to the left and two delay pass routes to the right, at least one receiver will be open.

Coaching Points

On the right side of the field, there is a flood concept between the X, H, and Z receivers. By default, the Z receiver is the plays primacy receiver. He runs his shoot routes towards the left side line. If a blitz is called and no defender covers the flat, the ball should be thrown to him. If the flat is covered. Then look for the H receiver, once he breaks towards the left side line on his 12 yard out route. Watch for a defender dropping into the curl to flat (buzz zone) as he may be position defender the Z receiver’s out route. The tight end’s delay seam is excellent pass route to attack players who like to drop all the defenders into zone coverage. Wait for him to go out, and then throw a quick bullet pass to him. Expect to pickup  4-6 yards. The runningbacks delay curl route is another option to look for if no other receiver is open.
